The Windows CE Core 5.0 GPS download is available here: https://gpsdownload.com/contents/WindowsCE5.0.zip and, as you can see, the file that we’ll be using for this tutorial comes in at a whooping 20MB!What this means is that it will take less than a minute to download over your broadband connection, but those with dial-up might need to do this overnight as it will take about an hour or two depending on your connection speed and data package size (in other words you'll need to stay within the limits of your monthly allowance). Once downloaded, you need to unzip the file. This is done simply by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting “Extract all”. You then want to open Windows Explorer (or My Computer) and navigate into the unzipped folder. Then you will see another folder called “Setup” which you should open first. Then, out of this folder, run Setup.exe and follow the instructions on screen to install Windows CE Core 5.0 GPS download on your computer. Most of you should be familiar with this process because it is standard practice for most Windows installations; however, if not then simply continue reading the next paragraph for further details. Once you reboot your computer, Windows CE Core will automatically detect the GPS device and activate it. If this is the first time that Windows CE Core has detected a GPS device on your computer then you will be prompted to download and install the necessary drivers for this GPS device: 1. Click on “OK” button to continue moving forward. Note: If you received a message stating, “C:\\PROGRA~1\\COMMON~1\\MICROS~2\\...DATAB~1 is not accessible”, then your "Windows Explorer" file system must be configured to open network paths. To check this, open Windows Explorer and create a new folder. You can name it anything you like, just remember that it must be preceded by the letter "C." This is because Windows Explorer has a default setting and if you do not change this then it will close all network path references to the location of the file/folder or drive "C:" on your computer. The next step is to run the GPS navigator on your computer. After this point everything should work as expected as long as you have enabled hardware compatibility in Windows CE Core as described above. You will be asked to input your location (you can either do this manually or let the computer scan for it) and then all you need to do is wait for the GPS navigator to work its magic. Remember, when using GPS navigation software, you must ensure that your mobile device’s battery is fully charged before starting your journey! Once this step has been completed, simply click on “Next” button to continue with the installation process. The next step is the default location setting. You can choose whether or not you would like to set your current city or state as the default destination for any future navigation sessions. cfa1e77820
